The short version
- 01Set the Client, Project and Task once in FunctionFox.
- 02Tick every entry that belongs there, across the whole week.
- 03Check the summary and confirm. Each row saves with its own date.
The problem
Why FunctionFox time entry is one row at a time
The FunctionFox timesheet form saves a single entry. To log a week, you fill it in and click Save New, over and over. A week with twenty five entries means twenty five trips through the same form.
FunctionFox has no public API and no way to upload timesheet entries from a file. So there is no spreadsheet you can drop in. The Snaptally Exporter fills the form for you instead, and it can do a whole batch in one go.
How it works
How a batch works
- 1Log your week in Snaptally. Typed lines, calendar blocks, the timer and the sticky all land on the same sheet.
- 2In FunctionFox, open your timesheet and set the Client, Project and Task you want to fill.
- 3Open the Exporter panel. It shows your whole week. Tick every entry that belongs under that selection. A day's checkbox ticks that whole day.
- 4Click Push. The Exporter reads your FunctionFox selection back and shows exactly what will be written, like 5 entries · 9.50 h under Acme Co, Website refresh, Design.
- 5Confirm. It fills the date, hours and description for each entry and saves each row, showing progress as it goes.
Plan your batches
One push per project
Each push files everything under one Client, Project and Task. So plan by project, not by day. Inside each day, the Exporter sorts entries by client and project, so the ones you push together already sit next to each other.
A week spread across three projects is three pushes, not thirty rows.
It fills
Date, Hours and Description. Each row keeps the date of its own entry.
You choose
Client, Project, Task and Personnel. Set them once and every entry in the batch is filed there.
Safety
Built to stop, not guess
Nothing is written until you confirm
The panel shows the count, the hours and where they will be filed before it saves a thing.
A failed row stops the batch
The push stops at the row that failed and marks it, so you know exactly what made it in.
It watches the selection
If FunctionFox changes the Client, Project or Task in the middle of a batch, the Exporter stops instead of filing the rest in the wrong place.
Sent rows stay marked
Entries you have pushed are marked in the panel, so you do not send the same one twice from that browser.

Questions
Common questions
How many entries can I push at once?
As many as you tick. They go in one after another, and the panel shows how far it has got.
Can one push cover several projects?
No. A push files everything under the Client, Project and Task set in FunctionFox. Push each project as its own batch.
Can a batch cover more than one day?
Yes. Each entry keeps its own date, so a whole week of one project can go in one push.
Does it read my existing FunctionFox entries?
No. It only goes one way. Your week goes from Snaptally into FunctionFox when you push, and nothing comes back.
Is this made by FunctionFox?
No. Snaptally is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to FunctionFox.
